IT consulting for Jacksonville businesses
Help with the decisions that come before the work.
Most technology problems start as a decision nobody planned. A server bought in a hurry, software picked from a demo, an office move where the network was an afterthought. Consulting is having somebody who deals with this every day look at the decision before you make it.
IT consulting for growing businesses
Four kinds of work we do
Consulting is a vague word, so here is what it means in practice.
Assessments and audits
What you have, what is wrong with it, and what to fix first. Written down, ranked by risk and cost, and yours to keep whether or not we do any of the work.
Vendor and software selection
Phone systems, practice software, internet providers. We sit in on the demos, ask the technical questions before you sign, and deal with the vendor afterwards so you do not have to.
Project planning
Office moves, new locations, network redesigns and migrations, planned before anybody touches a cable. The expensive part of a project is usually something nobody checked before it started.
Budgets and ongoing advice
An annual IT budget and a plan for replacing hardware before it fails, so a server reaching the end of its life shows up as a line in next year’s budget instead of an emergency.

How to work with us
Two ways in, and a free place to start
You do not have to be a managed client to hire us for advice, and you do not have to hire us for anything to get a first look.
Already a client
Planning happens on a schedule: regular reviews, a hardware replacement plan and a budget for the year ahead, so none of it depends on you remembering to ask.
Not a client
Hire us for a single piece of work: an assessment, a project plan, or a second opinion on a quote somebody else has given you. There is no requirement to move your support to us afterwards.
Not sure yet
Start with the free IT assessment. We look at your security, email, network and backups and give you a one page summary. Paid consulting is for when you already know the question.
How an engagement runs
The same four steps whether it is a single assessment or a three year plan. Each one hands something to the next.

1
Where you are
We document what you actually have: hardware, software, accounts, contracts, and who has access to what.
You getAn inventory, often the first one you have had
-
2
What is in the way
The gaps between what you have and what the business needs, ranked by risk and cost rather than by what is interesting to fix.
You getA ranked list of what needs attention
-
3
Where you want to be
A realistic target built around your budget and how your business actually runs. Not an ideal setup you will never pay for.
You getA target you can afford
-
4
How to get there
The work in the order it should happen, with rough costs and timing for each step.
You getA written plan with costs and timing
The finished plan is yours. Hand it to whoever you like.

The Advanced Difference
Why choose Advanced for IT consulting?
Our IT consulting services are designed to remove uncertainty and reduce risk, giving you clear advice and practical direction so you can make confident decisions about your technology.
We have probably seen your industry
Accounting firms, medical and dental practices, law firms, logistics companies, veterinary clinics, property managers and nonprofits. Chances are the problem in front of you is one we have run into before. Industries we support
The people who plan it can do it
If you want us to carry out the plan, the people who wrote it do the work, and they are the ones you call if something goes wrong. If you would rather use somebody else, the plan still works.
Every recommendation comes with a reason
So you can check the reasoning instead of taking our word for it. If a recommendation cannot be explained in a sentence, it should not be in the plan.
Locally owned since 2014
Same owner, same office on Salisbury Road. A three year plan is only useful if the people who wrote it are still reachable in year three.
Questions people ask first
Do we have to be a managed client?
No. A lot of consulting work is for businesses that have their own IT person or another provider and want a second pair of eyes.
Will you just recommend your own services?
Sometimes we are the right answer, and the plan will say so. Every recommendation comes with its reasoning, so you can judge that for yourself rather than trusting us on it.
What do we get at the end?
A written plan: what you have, what needs attention, in what order, and roughly what it costs. It is yours whether or not we do any of the work.
Can you look at a quote we have already been given?
Yes, and it is one of the most useful things we do. A second opinion before you sign costs far less than a first opinion afterwards.
Tired of IT problems slowing your business down?
Talk to Jeremiah.
No sales pitch. Thirty minutes to understand your situation and work out whether we are the right fit. If we are not, I will tell you that too.
